Distinguishing Marsh Tit from a Willow Tit, at least for me, is quite a challenge. I have read the literature and carefully studied the pictures. I assume that I did it well, though I am not sure. There is practically no difference in size nor looks. Weight of both species is arounbd dozen or so grams with a wingspan not exceeding 20 centimeters. I have not found nor observed differences worth mentioning, that is why I have decided that the comments on both of them will be the same.
Last minute news – 01/2016
Once, in the frosty morning while waiting for goldfinches I managed to take pictures of marsh tit. I could probably take much more pictures but it was a great tit’s district, and it chased the marsh tit away. The marsh tit was the one which I did not photographed for a long time so I made changes to the gallery with the new photos.
Last minute news – 03/2016
When I was waiting for hawfinches, unexpectedly a marsh tit sat on a branch a few meters from my hidden look-out point. It was on the right side of the hides and it was difficult for me to move the tripod with the lens quickly, but I was able to record its voice.
Last minute news - 02/2017
While in the hide I was watching for woodpeckers there appeared great tits, marshes, Eurasian blue tits, hawfinch and greenfinches at the feeders. I took so many interesting photos that galleries of these species were rebuilt.
Lasty minute news-11/2019
The criteria for assessing my photos are changing. I think that I neglected this species. Waiting for the sparrowhawk, in this time, I took several photos which introduced a great variety to the presented photos of this species. The gallery is becoming very good, though I wonder if it's not untimely?
