I was incredibly surprised to encounter the eastern blue-tongued lizard, while I was leaving one of the parks in Sydney. At first, I was apprehensive at the sight of menacing and fast-moving creature. When I looked closer, however, it appeared to be of gentle disposition, despite having such a threatening gaze. More than this, the animal I met on my way turned out to crippled, as it was bereft of the right forelimb. The most conspicuous feature of the species is its blue tongue that it often exposes for a fraction of a second. It was quite a success to photograph his tongue. The eastern blue-tongued lizard seems to be rather large, as it is up to 60 cm long. The species is liked by the Australian very much. They actually produce a brand of beer with his image; the beer is a perfect beverage for a hot weather day.
