Birds > Suliformes > Rock Cormorant Phalacrocorax magellanicus

info

I encountered the rock shag twice and the birds I could observe were not numerous. For the first time during the short cruise around Ushuaia, while shooting other species previously described. Unfortunately, I could find them only on one small island. Luckily, I took a lot of pictures, but because of ship-board instability many of them were out of focus or poorly cropped. Next time I could watch it while shooting South American terns on the wreck of the ship in the port of Ushuaia. It is slightly smaller than the blue-eyed cormorant. Its weight is 1.5 kilogram and a wingspan of less than a meter.
