Probably it will be the 453rd bird species classified as Polish fauna. The spur-winged lapwing occurs in Africa and in the Middle East, where it is easy to find. This bird presented in the photos was photographed in Strzelno, Poland.
Last minute news – 11/2017
The spur-winged lapwing – the second scene. The first information about the spur-winged lapwing comes from the end of September. So already more than a month the bird is sitting for photographers at the station in Strzelno. Driving by  the city I could not help myself from checking if the bird was still there. And indeed it was. Probably very familiar with lenses, photographers, because during the shooting it did not look anxious and leisurely cleaned its feathers. Photos, just like for the first time, were taken openly, without camouflaging. It’s a pity the bird did not have a ring, otherwise we might track its story. It is not likely to be aware of the frosts coming to our country, which better would not be fatal to this exotic incomer...
Last minute news- 12/2018 Tanzania
Having come back from Tanzania, I’m finishing my work on new galleries and changes in some of the previous ones with the spur-winged lapwing. I’m quite surprised that finally not so many photos of the spur-winged lapwing were taken. During my stay in Tanzania, there was so much happening that the thought of having pictures of the spur-winged lapwing, which I had the opportunity to photograph in Poland not so long before, probably resulted in the fact that most of my attention and time was devoted to other species. And it’s not bad perhaps, as of all the bird photographic trips I have had, the portfolio of pictures from Tanzania is the most interesting one. Going back to the introductory text and the impressions of people coming back from Africa, it is quite difficult to explain and understand. Africa seems a place which one must visit themselves. Reports, information and pictures are no substitute for the real experience of this magnificent and beautiful place as Africa is. The mere work on the photographic material, sounds and information took me quite a lot of time as I brought a record number of pictures and sound recordings. They are probably the best proof for the fact that Tanzania really is a unique place. The inventory itself is just the tip of an iceberg, as behind it, there are photos which, in case of Tanzania, are of definitely better quality than the shoots from other trips – I invite you to take a  look.
