Birds > Accipitriformes > Plumbeous Kite Ictinia plumbea

info

History has a tendency to repeat itself. I photographed a similar bird in Australia. It was the black-shouldered kite. The kite from Argentine is similar to its Australian cousin, and I was able to capture it in a similar setting. A plumbeous kite once sat alone, and another time a couple of kites sat high in the crown of a lone tree and watched the surrounding area. They were not afraid too much and when I kept a distance of several meters birds did not fly away. Reducing this distance would be pointless. Aiming the camera straight up, to have the sky in the background, is probably the biggest mistake when taking photos. The plumbeous kite is a small bird of prey. Its weight is about 300 grams.
