info

The two species of bee-eaters created on my side have been complimented with two new species I took pictures of while on my trip to Thailand: the blue-tailed bee-eater and the green bee-eater - unfortunately of documentary quality. The photos were taken without camouflaging and bee-eaters did not allow me to reduce the distance to be able to take better pictures. I had several opportunities to encounter green bee-eaters and therefore such an interesting gallery could be created. Blue-tailed bee-eaters could be observed only once and, unfortunately, they were sitting in a rather unnatural environment for them, on an electric wire. blue-tailed bee-eaters occur in Asia, south of the Himalayas through India, Thailand to Indonesia. Green bee-eaters have a similar range of occurrence, the only difference is that they are more common in the area.
Last minute news -12/2018 Sri Lanka
Documentary photos in the little green bee-eater and the blue-tailed bee-eater galleries, posted after my trip to Thailand, have been replaced with photos from Sri Lanka, which capture the charm of these birds and changed the category of the gallery to very good. There were indeed numerous bee-eaters in some places and they were so tame that they could be observed sometimes from a few dozen meters.
