It can be found in North and Central America. These images were taken in Greece. A small stream of very pure water was flowing to the sea. The turtles swam to the tourists passing by in hope for an easy meal so taking pictures was not a problem. It is interesting that the area was not enclosed. So probably it was not a breeding place, but acclimatized turtles set free by bored farmers. This acclimatization was quite successful as there were dozens of turtles...
