The trip to Egypt this time was not a typical "bird" trip. But going to an exotic country without a telephoto lens is not possible in my case. All the pictures were taken without the support of a local guide, in a way while visiting this desert country. Egypt, although it is an African country, is in vain to look for views associated with Africa, with elephants, giraffes, lions, and wildebeest. They are not there. Nearly 90% of the area of ​​this huge country is deserts. The area of ​​Egypt is over 1 million square kilometers, which is over three times larger than that of Poland. The rest of the non-desert part of Egypt is the green Nile valley. This desert in the vicinity of Luxor and Marsa Alam is endless rocky expanses with sparse vegetation and individual trees. The Egypt landscape gallery shows it well on my website. It is not a desert where you can see sand. Egypt creates its own category among the African countries that I have visited so far, and it is impressive. It is a tough place when it comes to photographing birds. In the desert, you can’t count on the abundance of species and their large numbers. It is understandable with such a small food base. The area on the coast was a surprise for me. Below the surface of the water, reef life in the Red Sea was literally bustling. The number of fish species and their numbers was very impressive. And there were few birds. A single Western Reef Heron, two terns and a few gulls. Fortunately, birds appeared in the regularly watered lawns of the hotel and they could be photographed there. I added the main text of this short tourist trip to the Black Scrub-Robin, because I think the best photos were taken during the trip. The most interesting observation was related to the osprey and I will explain it in the text about the osprey. The Black Scrub-Robin was preying on hotel lawns and accepted a distance of a few meters from people. And since there were several encounters, there was a lot to choose from to build a gallery.
