Argentine giant tegu
Reptiles
The first contact with rainforest nature was shocking as I saw a sizeable lizard moving down the hotel lawn. It was an Argentine black and white tegu. The length of this lizard’s body reaches up to 1.5 m, with a weight of up to 7 kg. It was moving very peacefully and eating fruit scattered on the lawn. There was one more encounter with this lizard, while I was admiring Iguazu waterfalls. A tegu trod peacefully among confused tourists. The species occurs in north Argentina, Columbia, Venezuela, Paraguay, Uruguay and Guyana. Dobre |
