Senegal- 02/2023

My first photos of the rock bunting were taken in Spain, in the morning before the bearded vultures and other vultures could be observed. The bird was taken at the watering -place where our lookout point was located.

Unfortunately, this time in a sparrow hide by the drinker only one rock bunting appeared. Several interesting photos were taken, which introduce some variety in the gallery.

I encountered the rock shag twice and the birds I could observe were not numerous. For the first time during the short cruise around Ushuaia, while shooting other species previously described. Unfortunately, I could find them only on one small island. Luckily, I took a lot of pictures, but because of ship-board instability many of them were out of focus or poorly cropped. Next time I could watch it while shooting South American terns on the wreck of the ship in the port of Ushuaia. It is slightly smaller than the blue-eyed cormorant.

Honestly a little neglected this species on Fuerteventura. There were no problems with their shooting, but unfortunately it happens that preoccupied photographing exotic birds news pokpiłem case. Finally, sorting the photos turned out that as popular and readily available species, did not do interesting material for a full-size gallery. Fortunately, rock pigeon is practically all continents. A similar story was the Collared Dove, in a desert environment could arise interesting photos to the gallery.
Last minute news – 01/2019 Egypt

I had three encounters with the rock ptarmigan in Iceland. The first one was similar to those morning encounters with the pheasant in Poland. While I was walking along the fencing of a marshy meadow, suddenly a male appeared from nowhere in front of me flying away in a rush. Initially I thought that he had a nest somewhere nearby, but I checked the surroundings and found no nest. During the second encounter several photos were taken. A male was sitting on a grassy elevation of a marshy meadow so that I could see him from a distance.

There were a few encounters with rock sparrows in Mongolia. We saw them in the vicinity of lakes, but also on the Gobi Desert. No camouflage or bait spot was  required to take the photos presented here and record the sound of this bird. Once, 6 meters behind our yurt, rock sparrows had their nest, but we were coming back for the night so late that the light was poor. And in the morning, often before the dawn, we would leave in search for subsequent species.

As I mentioned earlier, pheasants, similarly to bucks (male deer), make a lot of noise when they realize they have been spotted by a man. Sounds made by bucks can be compared to the sound of an angry dog. These days you can often see small herds of deers in the fields but trying to approach them is a very difficult task. What is important is to have a good ambush which will allow you to take satisfactory photos. During my walks in the forest, I didn’t manage to see a little fawn which often lies all day, hidden somewhere in the bush.
