No doubt, without the help of guides this bird cannot be found in the forest by ourselves, as it is very difficult, almost impossible. It is estimated that the entire population of serendib scops owl is only  few hundred individuals. The birds live in a forest like a jungle. It is densely overgrown with plants that make it difficult to pass through, and in addition the terrain is mountainous. Every now and then one has to climb and after a while slide down a wet, clayey slope. What is more - the size of the bird - it is several centimeters long and sits still on the branch. The serendib scops owl  is difficult to spot it because of the size and colors that blend with the surroundings. It was very tolerant of our company. It sat in such a place that it was not possible to use long lenses. To make matters worse, at the bottom of the forest, even at noon there was little light. Well, one picture in memory of the meeting and we let it rest. But, as the bird has been recently discovered and because of small population of this species, definitely it is another pearl in my current collection.
