Birds > Passerine > Zitting Cisticola Cisticola juncidis

info

It seems to be the smallest of my galleries created after my visit to Australia. I could find the Zitting Cisticola only once at one place and that was it. There are several variations of the bird throughout the world and it is widely distributed from Europe, across Africa and Asia, to Australia.
Last miunute news 04/2015-Malta
On Malta, it can be said, it was ubiquitous, at least acoustically. I heard it many times and didn’t have any problems with recording its sound. Of course there was no single recording which would be free from the sounds of cars or other urban noises. The gallery of the zitting cisticola has been enriched with a few more pictures, for taking of which, despite its ubiquity, I devoted several hours. These few photos however mean a lot in the very modest so far photography output of this species.
Last minute news - South Africa 02/2017
If there is a possibility to change the quality of the gallery after successive encounters with birds, fruitful with better and more interesting photos it is always the reason to be pleased. Few pictures that were taken in Malta are complimented with new ones from South Africa.
Last minute news - 05/2018- Cyprus
Here we have definitely better photos than the previous ones, and better recording of the voice of the zitting cisticola. The gallery has been rebuilt. I could hear the bird from the balcony of my hotel room. The bird behaves specifically. Flying quite chaotically gives a characteristic sound, then falls down to a hight of about one meter into bushes and goes silent. Fortunately, it sometimes sat on top of these plants and I could take the pictures.
