There are just two photographs taken by chance in a park in Buenos Aires. Speckled teals occur in South America, sometimes even on water reservoirs which are located at huge heights (over 3000 meters). There are several subspecies of this duck in South America. This duck weighs 0.4 kg on average, with a wingspan reaching up to 0.7 m.

I do not know why, but somehow in Poland I had no opportunity to shoot our warbler - Garden warbler, which is quite popular species. On Fuerteventura I was wandering a lot looking for the spectacled warbler. It was always very skittish and kept a considerable distance, so the presented images are quite distinctively framed. I could always watch it in open areas overgrown with bushes. Just like the grey shrike it had got its favorite observation point that was slightly up. Dokumentacyjne |

I’m glad that I managed to take a few satisfactory photos of this bird. Its amazing, aggressive look and interesting coloring make an interesting composition. They are practically omnivorous. They eat other tiny birds as well as fruit and insects. The weigh of this bird is about 50 gram. When I was photographing it in Uluru, it was so absorbed in observing finches that I could approach it at a few meter distance and take photos which are presented in this gallery without framing. Of course everything was not so easy everywhere. Dobre |
