Sacred Ibis
Casuariiformes

I feel a little uncomfortable when processing photos from South Africa, looking at pictures of a sacred ibis. Maybe it was not as common as the hadada ibis, but more interesting pictures should have been taken. Well, this happens, luckily I managed to record voices of the birds and you can find the sound in the gallery. In addition, the sacred ibis has quite a wide range of occurrence, it can be found to the south of the Sahara, so there will surely be an opportunity to improve or complement the photos of this species on my site.

Sacred Kingfisher
Coraciiformes

This kingfisher was photographed during low tide in the mangrove forest. When I was approaching this specific forest I thought initially that because of water puddles and sludgy forest bed it would be impossible to go deep into the forest, despite the lack of water. However nothing is obvious until you verify it by yourself. On the ebb the gravel forest bed turns out to be so stable that it is quite easy to walk. Walking quietly and safely through the mangrove forest I noticed a bird similar in shape to our kingfisher.

Saffron Finch
Passerine

It occurs in South America, in its northern and western part, as well as in Argentina. Due to its appearance and beautiful voice it is also artificially bred. I took my pictures of this bird in the northern part of Argentina. The weight of a saffron finch is about 20 grams, with a body length of about 15 cm.

SAHARA
Morocco

The Sahara dessert, the largest desert in the world, finally has a gallery on my website. The Sahara is only slightly smaller than Europe and almost 29 times larger than Poland! Contrary to popular belief, the Sahara is not just an area of sandy dunes. Such an image is always presented to us when we are shown photographs of the Sahara. However, only a small part of it is as sandy as shown in the media, without plants with wind-blown sand. The rest is stony or gravelly terrain with sparse vegetation.
