Last minute news-02/2023-Gambia
This gallery went through some major changes after a visit to Gambia. This time some interesting photos were produced, much better in quality than before. The reason for this was good light and perspective. This photographic perspective was made possible by a canoe trip into the mangrove forest. The kayak offered the opportunity to reduce the distance and take good pictures, especially as the birds were used to the kayaks. The only difficulty was getting the unstable canoe and the 600mm lens set up properly. But thanks to the help of my daughter, who deftly manoeuvred the canoe during the shoot, we managed to capture many interesting bird species. Photos were taken of, among others, four species of kingfishers, the African Darter, Senegal Thick-knee, the Little Bee-eater and the Western Grey Plantain-eater.
