Although I managed to capture many species of hummingbirds, you can find there one description of all 22 species photographed in Costa Rica together. This time my expedition took longer and the light was better, I had therefore an opportunity to take many dynamic pictures. It is interesting that driving around Costa Rica after traveling several kilometers there were species of hummingbirds completely different from those we could observe earlier.

Another species of owl goes into my gallery, thanks to mere human Kindness and spontaneity (Sławek thank you for the hint and best regards, because nowadays kindness and simple enjoying our avian fauna of nature photographers getting harder and harder, it replaces the often misunderstood rivalry and competition. Unfortunately, such times). The place where I photographed long-earder owls was quite shocking.

In the area where we were photographing, there was a huge number of long-legged buzzards. When we were passing subsequent villages, there was no single kilometer, where a long-legged buzzard could not be seen. Some of the pictures were taken exactly that way. The long-legged buzzard appeared in the hide practically a single time, just in front of the lenses. A few times it appeared also in the background. It is not very much larger than our common buzzard. It has a wingspan of about 135 cm, with a weight of around 1.5 kg.

I haven’t managed to find the reasons for calling this bird „a fridge” in Polish (the Polish name of this species is „lodówka”, Eng. “fridge”), but it remains an open question. Long-tailed ducks are quite easy to photograph by the Baltic sea in the autumn-winter season. They are found there in quite large flocks, and apart from gulls they are the least bashful species occurring there (goosanders, cormorants). The long-tailed duck weighs up to one kilogram, with a wingspan of about 0.7 meter.
