I had to ask professionals to identify the Green Sandpiper (Paweł, Mr Julian, greetings) as the differences between Green Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper and other Sandpipers has been a challenge for me so far. I observed them too rarely to tell and to be sure of the identification. Like it once was with European Robin and Red-breasted Flycatcher and couple of other species. So there is a progress, which undoubtedly makes me happy. Unfortunately, the watching spot wasn’t perfect, as for couple of hours of observation, two Green Sandpipers flew by for two brief moments. I couldn’t also record their voice on my own, so there is still much work to do regarding this species. Green Sandpipers make quite a squeaky noise and what fits best for their flight description would be falling from the sky. It would appear very quickly and disappear equally so. Green Sandpipers are a small figured birds as their weight is around 100 grams with a wingspan of about 0.5 meter.

Several photos of Green Sandpipers feeding along the river bank alongside with Wood Sandpiper were taken in Turkey. It is a pity that the distance was too large for my400 focal length lens. It rarely happens in photography that when you approach the bird closely the focal length is excessive. Still, I could add several photos of this bird to the modest gallery of the Green Sandpiper.

I have added the voice recording of the green sandpiper that appeared while I was waiting for the common goldeneye. Unfortunately, at the place where it could be seen it was difficult to photograph it. I have added the voice recording of the green sandpiper but the photos in the gallery are unchanged.
