The hawfinch is another magnificent bird that can be found in our country, which is, however, not very well-known and people watching photos of this species are often surprised to find out that it actually occurs in Poland. Like in case of the bullfinch, I don’t have pictures of this species that would look satisfactory to me. The bird’s coloring, its majestic large beak add it charm, and one would like to have a photo gallery as rich as those devoted to the goldcrest or the long-tailed tit.

Let's hope it will not last long that these few pictures of the hazel goose which initiate the gallery of this species will be the only photos of this beautiful bird on my website. It was unforgettable experience spending time in the environment of its habitat. Beautiful spruce forests, often swampy, with the bottom like a soft green "carpet", all that brought me a lot of joy and moments to come back to. Absolutely amazing surroundings.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that hedgehogs are nocturnal, I didn’t have the opportunity to photograph them in their natural habitat. The presented photos of the hedgehog were taken after I released it from a trap set for a marten, which in fact had been looming large in my mind for a long time. The trap was effective for hedgehogs and cats but not for a marten. The man who sold it didn’t have the appropriate knowledge of the specific anatomical features of the marten. The trap had an egg in its central part which served as the bait.

Shooting the Helmeted Friarbird I had the impression that it was a miniature dinosaur. Especially because of its head and beak. Meanwhile the Friarbird belongs to the Meliphagidae family, and in the family there are about 16 species of honeyeaters. The presented species of the Friarbird is the third in my gallery. Friarbirds feed on nectar, but also insects, fruit and flowers..
