The ringed teal was photographed in a park in Buenos Aires. I managed to capture both a male and a female, but unfortunately there weren’t more opportunities to take more interesting pictures. It’s a pity as it’s a beautiful bird. Breeders acknowledge its beauty and they breed this species in artificial conditions. They are an adornment of ponds and puddles in Europe as well, although some of them are fugitives from inbreeding. They are very much like Mandarin ducks and Carolina ducks in the Warsaw Łazienki. Naturally they occur in South America, from Brazil to Patagonia in the south of Argentina. The duck weighs about 3.5 kg.
