Finally, there is something new in the gallery presenting the woodpecker family – Three-toed Woodpecker. It is a thing of rarity in Poland. I have never come across this bird in Poland. It inhabits boreal forests dominated by coniferous trees, especially dying coniferous trees. We encountered in such a forest. The old forest was beautiful with the brushwood of moss and lichen and with hills and knolls. There were not many Woodpeckers. After a long marsh and intense observation, we managed to spot just one. It was female.

Thrush nightingale

When I was on my way back from hides after shooting the lesser spotted eagle I was driving slowly down a country road among the meadows and pastures. Here and there along the road there was water in depression, and the whole area was overgrown with thick bushes. In such a place I could hear a beautiful birdsong. I knew that in the eastern Poland a thrush nightingale can be found and a common nightingale - in the western . In Greater Poland it is easy to take photos of the common nightingale. As I read the thrush nightingale is much more skittish. Dobre |
