Red-Crested Cardinal
Passerine
Those few pictures of a red-crested cardinal were taken in a park in Buenos Aires. It occurs in northern and central Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia. It weighs 30-45 grams, with a wingspan of less than 30 cm. Due to its beautiful voice it is also artificially bred. Dostateczne |

Red-Crested Finch
Passerine
The name of this species probably comes from its fiery red crest on its head. Regrettably I didn’t manage to take many photos during a single encounter with this bird in the vicinity of Iguasu in Argentina. I managed, however, to capture its fiery crest on the head. This bird weighs about a dozen or so grams. Dostateczne |
Red-crested pochard
Anseriformes
Well, I did not succeed with the red-crested pochard. Two attempts to photograph this bird in Mongolia ended in merely documentary pictures. On little ponds, apart from red-crested pochards there were also bar-headed geese, Mongolian herring gulls, horned grebes and grey herons. I did not have problems with photographing gulls or geese, but the pochards were unfortunately too far away to take better pictures. Dokumentacyjne |
