Tundra swan
Anseriformes
When shooting pictures the Red-breasted Goose I was lucky to take the first images of the Tundra Swan. At first looked very similar to the Whooper Swan. It is just smaller, because its weight does not exceed 8 kilograms and the wingspan is 190 centimeters. It is the smallest swan found in Europe. In Poland, is has been seen only when migrating. Turkey vulture
Accipitriformes
Searching for new species in the rainforest and driving from one place to another, suddenly, on a withered tree trunk near the road we saw several turkey vultures. Well, all I have is another series of documentary pictures with the sky at the background. It was the only encounter with these birds. It’s good that at least I was more successful with the black vulture. Turkey vultures are a little bigger than black vultures. Their weight can reach 2 kilograms, with a wingspan not exceeding 1.8 m. It lives in both Americas, excluding Canada. Bardzo dobre |

Turquoise-browed Motmot
Coraciiformes
Motmots occur from Mexico to Argentina. They belong to beautifully colored birds of medium size (weight up to 200 grams, body length up to 50 cm, the tail is approximately 30 cm of that). Its name comes from the characteristic bill, which serrated edges look like a saw. Its decorative two tail feathers with distinctive oval-shaped tips at the ends look incredibly. It is not easy to observe and photograph a motmot in its natural environment. As usual a bit of luck is needed and useful hints of local guides. Dobre |
Twite
Passerine
It lives in northern Europe and Asia. In Poland only migrations of small flocks have been spotted. I managed to see a small flock in Świnoujście in October. Twites were not especially shy. If you maintain an about 10 meter distance you can photograph them, but it did not last too long. Every now and then the flock flew away, but not too far and it was worth waiting to follow them to their next feeding site. The size and behavior reminds me of the recently photographed the Red-fronted Serin. Bardzo dobre |
