I photographed the Brünnich’s Guillemot (American name - thick-billed murre) in a bird colony on a rocky cliff together with the common guillemot and the razorbill. There are just a few features distinguishing it from the common guillemot, namely a little more massive beak with a distinct white stripe on it and a bit darker plumage on its head and spine (practically black). In terms of their size the common guillemot and the brünnich’s guillemot are similar, as their weight is about one kilogram with a wingspan of about 70 cm.

Thorn-Tailed Rayadito
Passerine
In Patagonia there were no problems with shooting the thorn-tailed rayadito. The house wren could also be observed often around there. Thorn-tailed rayaditos liked to stay in bushes where they felt safe. They were quite agile so quick reflexes while shooting was absolutely necessary. It is a small, nice to shoot passerine bird in the Furnariidae family. Its weight is about 12 grams, with a wingspan of a little more than 10 centimeters. Bardzo dobre |

Three-banded Plover
Charadriiformes
During the stay in South Africa I managed to photograph three species of plovers: the white-fronted plover, the Kittlitz's plover and the three-banded plover. This text is common to these three species. The white-fronted plover was photographed by the sea, or rather by the Indian Ocean. Taking photos of this bird was like shooting pictures of a common ringed plover on the Baltic Sea. Moving slowly it was possible to gradually reduce the distance from the bird. There were only a few small plovers, several sanderlings and a small flock of terns on the long and wide beach. Bardzo dobre |
