Wood Duck Carolina Duck
Anseriformes
Pictures of the Wood Duck that are published here were taken in a park in Warsaw's Łazienki (Royal Baths). Searching for the duck on our water bodies is useless. Nonfreezing water in winter, sense of security and the fact that people like to fatten birds in the park are conducive to the occurrence of such "misfits" of our fauna as the Wood Duck or the Mandarin Duck. They probably escaped from some breeding farm. The Carolina Duck in nature is found only in North America. It is close to the Mandarin Duck in size, in which company it lives in Łazienki. Wood Sandpiper
Charadriiformes
Pictures of the Wood Sandpiper were made while photographing White-winged tern. Unfortunately, the distance and the light left much to wish for. So, those pictures initiate the gallery, but are documentary in their value. There will come the time to photograph it in the morning light from a smaller distance and fund this gallery. Wood Sandpipers live on wet lands, nesting on the ground. Sandpiper’s weight is around 75 grams with a wingspan of 75 centimeters. Bardzo dobre |

Wood warbler
Passerine
There is quite an interesting and unique place for birdwatching on Malta. It is an artificial water reservoir of irregular shape with a few islets and green vegetation growing around it. It is fenced and inaccessible for hunters and passers-by. It has an observatory and educational function. It is literally hammered into the urbanized Maltese reality, so close, that it was impossible to record the sounds of birds due to the noise of a nearby road. Bardzo dobre |
Woodchat shrike
Passerine
Several documentary photographs taken in Greece initiate a gallery of the woodchat shrike on my website. Unfortunately, a considerable distance and excess of the August sun didn’t allow to take better pictures. In Poland, it is an extremely rare breeding bird (several pairs). The wingspan of this bird is up to 30 cm, weight – to 40 grams, so it is a little bigger than our red-backed shrike. Dostateczne |

Woodlark
Passerine
Many times I have been looking for this bird in the area where I usually take pictures. And nothing... I have never managed to see him, not to mention shooting. Unexpectedly I have got a call, or rather a text message from a acquaintance: "there is a wood lark to photograph". Having such a good start gallery of the wood lark, after many earlier failed attempts, I did not even dream of. And here, I have problem how to select the photos to the gallery from such an amount and moreover I have the soundtrack recorded on my own of the voice of the photographed bird. Bardzo dobre |
Woolly-necked Stork
Ciconiiformes
One could say that we were lucky this time. In Thailand only one representative of the stork family - the Asian openbill - was photographed. When I was back from other trips I could not widen a group of the representatives of this family on my website. In South Africa, we managed to photograph the yellow-billed stork, the African openbill and the woolly-necked stork. So I have three more representatives of storks. Of course with varying degrees of success in terms of photographic effect. Dobre |
Wren
Passerine
The first photos of Wren were taken, as usual, by accident. It was in a mixed forest on a small clearing, with the stock standing in the middle, heavily trimmed by woodpeckers. The woodpeckers, especially green and black were the object of my father-in-law’s and my sighs. We set up a tripod, put the camouflage net up and wait. An hour or two, just 5-6 meters behind us, we hear a noise on a pile of branches. Moje ulubione, Bardzo dobre |
