Ruff
Charadriiformes
Well, I think every photographer dreams of the outdoor- scenery in the green wet meadows where rival males ruffs can be captured during the photo shoot. It is said that there are not two alike males of the species and their breeding plumage and courtship supposedly make a unique, colorful spectacle. Supposedly, because I had no opportunity to observe ruffs on my own yet, but the pictures and the descriptions that you can find on the network are really convincing. I know that in Poland there are very few representatives of this species. Dobre |

Rufous Hornero
Passerine
The Polish name of this bird originates from its nest, intricately built of clay. (The Polish name of the bird is „potter”). Their nests are amazing structures but I did not manage to capture them. Rufous horneros occur almost all over South America. Their weight is about 40-60 grams, and their body length is about 20 cm. Dobre |
Rufous Motmot
Coraciiformes
Motmots occur from Mexico to Argentina. They belong to beautifully colored birds of medium size (weight up to 200 grams, body length up to 50 cm, the tail is approximately 30 cm of that). Its name comes from the characteristic bill, which serrated edges look like a saw. Its decorative two tail feathers with distinctive oval-shaped tips at the ends look incredibly. It is not easy to observe and photograph a motmot in its natural environment. As usual a bit of luck is needed and useful hints of local guides. Dostateczne |
