One could say that we were lucky this time. In Thailand only one representative of the stork family - the Asian openbill - was photographed. When I was back from other trips I could not widen a group of the representatives of this family on my website. In South Africa, we managed to photograph the yellow-billed stork, the African openbill and the woolly-necked stork. So I have three more representatives of storks. Of course with varying degrees of success  in terms of photographic effect.

Being in RPA it is impossible not to see such a peculiar sight as a common appearance of penguins on the beaches of this country is. They build nests in cavities and bushes, where you can easily approach them and photograph with 50mm lense. They really are on a tip of your hand as they do not fear people. Such a close contact in Poland can only be compared to Gulls and Swans at the seaside. They can weigh up to 5 kilograms and while they look clumsy on the shore, in the water they turn into a fast and adroit fish hunters.

During my stay in South Africa, when fully camouflaged I was looking forward to coming turacos, an African pied wagtail appeared on the edge of a small puddle. The sky was cloudy, so perfect conditions for shooting a black and white bird. The wagtail was so close that autofocus did not work correctly (the distance less than 4.5 meters). So I have so many interesting photos and bird voice recording that it is worth noting in information to the newly established 4-star gallery.

There weren’t any problems with finding elephants in parks in Tanzania, with the availability of information about animals which could be observed there. The word “park” doesn’t have much in common with our European image of the space you have to face. A national park often means a space as vast as thousands of square kilometers. In RSA there were no encounters with elephants. In Tanzania I could observe whole herds of them, smaller or larger ones. I even made an attempt to count them once, on a difficult, slightly wooded and curvy terrain, I counted 47 specimen! Africa!
