Ecuador 09/2023- introductory text

Well, I did not plan to take so poor, documentary photos of this bird. Condors occur throughout the western part of South America. They are really big, because have a wingspan of more than 3 meters, and the weight of their bodies can reach up to 15 kilograms. Regrettably, even with attached 600mm lens and 2X converter I failed. The bird was soaring too high. However, I have created the gallery of the Andean condor, because it is highly unlikely to encounter these wild birds. After all, it occurs only in South America...

Hummingbirds-text common to species photographed in Ecuador

Despite the poor quality of the photos, I decided to initiate the Anhinga gallery on my site with two of them. There is one reason. There are four species of anhingas in the world: Australian, African, Indian and American. The three of them have already had their galleries on my site. Finally, the time has come for the last representative of this species, unfortunately in a bad setting. Although it occurs in both Americas, I have not been able to find it either in Costa Rica or in Argentina.

The Antarctic fur seal also known as the Kerguelen fur seal grows up to 2 meters of height and about 200 kilograms of weight. These are the data for males, because females are much smaller and their weight does not exceed half the weight of males. It occurs only in waters around Antarctica. Unfortunately, when I was there I was not able to take more pictures of this mammal.
