Despite the fact that I did not manage to take good photos of the giant nuthatch in Thailand, a gallery of this bird had to be created on my website. For two reasons. The first one is my absolute fondness of these birds. I have managed to photograph 4 species of nuthatches so far and my eagerness to have the giant nuthatch in my gallery, the biggest nuthatch on the globe, was the second reason. It is really giant when compared with other nuthatches, as the length of its body reaches 20 cm, and its weight reaches 50 grams.

Being in Iguazú, even if you are not particularly interested in bird beauties, you should visit a place, which is unique on a global scale. Every taxi driver knows this place in Iguazú and for a few dollars will take you to an amazing hummingbird garden. An admission ticket costs really little. The place itself is very plain. For many years, on a small area of a backgarden, its owner has been hanging water fountains for hummingbirds around. Dostateczne |
Glaucous gull
Charadriiformes
In Poland during my photo session on Hel I was close to contacting with this bird for the first time. There was only one representative of this species on the peninsula. Unfortunately I failed. The more I was surprised by how it was easy to photograph this bird in Iceland. Glaucous gull occurs mainly in the west of Iceland, and its population is estimated at 10-15 thousand couples. It happened to me to see whole colonies of glaucous gulls, but sometimes they were in very inaccessible places. Bardzo dobre |

Glossy Ibis
Casuariiformes
Founding the gallery of this species on my website makes me happy for two reasons. The first of course is the fact that the glossy ibis belongs to fauna of Poland and it was my first encounter with this bird. The second reason is that the "ibis family" galleries enlarged on my site to 10. The trip to South Africa brought the bald ibis, the sacred Ibis and the glossy ibis. It is a pity that quality of the photos is not a reason for satisfaction. We could watch the ibises shortly while on a lake cruise. The birds were at a considerable distance and were very skittish. Goldcrest
Passerine
If you come across a group of old, plump spruces, you can be almost certain that there are Goldcrests living there. Unfortunately, they are hard to spot as they prefer tree crowns and the “inside” of the spruce. It should not surprise, as it is considered the smallest european bird. It weighs around 5 grams! Being that size, you need to fear everything. I, myself, have seen them running away from a starling (weight of around 80 grams, which is dozen or so times bigger) when I was photographing them. This comparison shows its meager, almost microscopic size quite well. Moje ulubione, Bardzo dobre |
